Student participants in next month's
USAEE/IAEE North American Conference (November 16-19) are invited to attend both
Ph.D. Day, which kicks off conference activities on Sunday, November 16, and the following morning's
Student Mentoring Breakfast. Both events are held at the conference host hotel, The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth:
Ph.D. Day
Sun Nov 16 | 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Bur Oak
Ph.D. Day enables students to familiarize themselves with one another and share their research interests and experiences in a collaborative setting. Throughout the afternoon, students will participate in a series of activities designed to foster interaction and stimulate conversation on various topics within the field of energy economics. Ph.D. Day also helps promote a sense of community and encourage meaningful connections among participants.
Student Mentoring Breakfast
Mon Nov 17 | 8:00 - 8:55 a.m.
West Fork I
The mentoring breakfast provides students with the opportunity to learn about different careers in the field and network with professionals--mentors will include experienced industry professionals (outside of academia) including mentors from consulting firms, private companies, and national laboratories. During the breakfast mentors will speak to students' career questions and non-academic concerns. Students will rotate between mentors over the course of the breakfast.
Students planning to attend Ph.D. Day are asked to contact USAEE Student Representative Vanshika Fotedar (if they have not already done so) by Monday, November 3, as are students interested in presenting their work during Ph.D. Day. Please also contact Vanshika for other questions or more information regarding either Ph.D. Day or the Student Mentoring Breakfast.
