Join the United States Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) on Wednesday, June 24 at 12:00 p.m. EDT for "The Renewable Fuel Standard: A Guide to America's Biofuel Mandate," a webinar presented by Tyler Gray, Director of Energy Innovation at the LSU Energy Institute.

This session will provide a clear, evidence-based guide to the Renewable Fuel Standard, the federal biofuel mandate that uses tradable RIN credits to shape fuel markets. The webinar will unpack EPA’s 2026–2027 reset—including record volumes, small-refinery-exemption reallocation, and the removal of eRINs—and examine what the evidence says about fuel prices, agriculture, emissions, and regional impacts.

Prior to taking on his role at the LSU Energy Institute, Tyler served as Secretary of the State of Louisiana's Department of Energy and Natural Resources.

Before that, he held positions as Director of Corporate and Government Affairs for Placid Refining Company, LLC and President of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association. He also served as an attorney in the Department of Natural Resources, Office of Conservation and for the City of New Orleans.

He graduated with a B.A. in Economics from James Madison University in Virginia, received his J.D. from Loyola University in New Orleans, and an M.B.A. with a specialization in economics from Louisiana State University. Mr. Gray is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and currently serves on several public and private boards and commissions.

Registration is required; there is no fee to attend this webinar. This webinar is presented in collaboration with the LSU Energy Institute
