GENERAL INFORMATION

AREA ATTRACTIONS AND HOTEL OVERVIEW

The sight of USAEE/IAEE's 27th Annual North American meeting is the Hilton Houston Post Oak. The newly renovated Hilton Houston Post Oak hotel is located in the center of the Uptown Houston, Texas business district, just one block from the Galleria Mall. Only 30 minutes from both the George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and Houston Hobby (HOU) Airports, the Hilton is an ideal stopping point for both business and leisure travelers. Numerous oil and energy companies and worldwide corporate headquarters are in our backyard. The Hilton Houston Post Oak hotel is only a 15-minute drive from Reliant Park, the downtown Houston business center, Texas Medical Center and the Geo. R. Brown Convention Center.  All rooms are equipped with wireless high-speed Internet access, work desk, coffee maker, refreshment center, safe, iron/ironing board, hair dryer and premium cable.

The 1894 Grand Opera House is a magnificently restored not-for-profit performing arts theater showcasing live entertainment year round. CLIMATE

September weather in Houston, TX area is pleasant, making it one of the best months to visit throughout the year.  Expect temperatures to range from an evening low of 68 degrees to daytime high of 88 degrees Fahrenheit. 

 

WHAT TO WEAR

This year's conference attire is business casual.  This includes slacks, polo-type shirts, blazers, or sweaters for gentlemen; slacks, skirts, polo-type shirts or blouses, blazers or sweaters, and comfortable shoes for ladies.  Suits, ties, nine-to-five dresses and high heels are strongly discouraged.  (Although temperatures outside may be warm, the air-conditioning indoors may warrant a light sweater or jacket.)
